Shree Swaminarayan Vidyamandir has been established in Samvat 2030. The main centre of the institution is situated in Gadhada- the Karma Bhoomi of Lord Shree Swaminarayan.

Through its various branches situated at Gadhada, Shihor and Botad, this institution runs ‘Shree Swaminarayan Shikshapatri Vidyalaya’, ‘Shree Shikshapatri Balmandir’, ‘Shree Swaminarayan Primary Vidyalaya’ ‘Shree Swaminarayan Shikshapatri High School’ etc. This institution has made tremendous progress in the field of education as well as in educational activities.

In the field of animal husbandry this institution nurtures the milch cattle of better breed like cows of Gir region in its Gaushala.  Moreover religious activities like Satsang and various activities like Gyan-Yagna, Japa-Yagna, Parayan, Invocation Mahotsav, Shikshapatri Mahotsav, Shraddha Mahotsav, Shram (Labour)-Yagna, religious tours and pilgrimages are also undertaken by this institution for the welfare and better health of the people.

This institution has published many books and such literary activity is still going on. The institution also publishes the magazine ‘Sadachar’ The source of inspiration of this institution Sadguru Kothari Purani Swai Harijivandasji, Sadguru Swami Uttampriyadasji and Sadguru Purani Swami Dharmnandandasji have come forward and rendered their valuable services and provided guidance as and where required.

At present in charge Mangaing Trustees of the institution Shastri Swami Bhaktipriyadasji, Kothari swami Bhaktitanaydasji, Purani Swami Harikrishnadasji, Swami Gopaljivandasji etc. saints and the devotees have been rendering their valuable services in various activities of the institution. Patel Narsibhai L. Kalathia and the staff of the school have been performing their duties well in the branch of the institution situated at Botad.

The institution ‘Shee Swaminarayan Gurukul, Shihor’ established by Shree Gopinathji Dev Kelvani Trust, Gadhada, has been established in June-1993. At present the institution runs a school from Balmandir to Std.10  and P.G.D.C.A. Computer college and thereby instills noble qualities and Samskaras alongwith providing education.

The devotee donor Shree Patel Muljibhai Virjibhai Kakadia family of small Rajkot (at present residing at Morbi) has donated land admesuring 5 Vighas to the institution. On the said land educational complex comprising Balmandir, Primary School, Secondary School, Computer Class, Vari Grih, Laboratory, Saint Asharam have been constructed with the liberal donations from education-loving donors of Shihor (at present residing in Mumbai).

Under the guidance of Shastri Swami Bhagvatswaroopdasji as a President of Shihor Gurukul Comples, the local trustees undertake various educational and social activities. This institution has also undertaken various health related activities like All diseases Diagnosis Camp, Blood Bank, Buttermilk Centre and Draught Relief Work.
