Swami Devswaroopdasji, the disciples of famous saint Gaivaiya Swami Devprasaddasji of Gadhpur moved much in the villages with his guru and pleased so many devotees and satsangees.  He also rendered services to the deity Gopinathji.  He worked has Kothari Swami at Bhavnagar for 8 years and at Kolkatta for 1½ years and though Satsang Katha and services to the deity spread Satsang and developed it by remaining as a shadow of his guru. 

How can an enthusiastic saint remain silent within four walls of a Temple?  Education is the only option to make the future of Satsang and society brighter, especially considering the modern demands of the time.  In order to save the new generation from evil habits of T.V. Culture and to develop Satsang through education, Pujya Dev Swami started one Gurukul institute in Amreli of Saurashtra region.  Witnessing ardent desire of his colleague Pujya Swami  Balkrishnadasji in the field of education and Satsang, he entrusted the educational complex and exhibited noble quality of heart.

The desire and life goal of Pujya Devprasad Swami was not confined to education only and therefore, he started a search for a place wherein both service to the god and service to education can be rendered.  Manekpur a place surrounded by the hills in tribal – Aadivasi area  and situated at a distance of 30 K.M. from Salvav was chosen by him.  With the co-operation inspiration and support of Pujya Purani Swami Keshavcharandasji of Salvav, this saint started his Seva – Yagna at Manekpur.

There is one 100 years old temple of Lord Shri Ram in Manekpur village and here there is satsang of Vanjara (Brahmin) Cast.  During the Muslim dynasty, the Brahmin ran away to their native to protect themselves from forceful Muslim conversion.  The Brahmins preferred a wandering life to comfortable conversion into a foreign religion.  Since there was tremendous influence of Muslim dynasty all around it was very difficult for these Brahmins to survive and settle at one place. Since these Brahmins kept on moving from one place to another, they were known as Vanjara (Brahmin). 

In Manekpur there is Satsang of Vanjara Brahmins who looks after the services of Ramji Temple.  But attraction of the new generation towards city and work and occupation forcing them towards cities made it very difficult to maintain the services of the deity. At that time Pujya Dev Swami took up the challenge to serve the deity which was heartily welcomed by all.  With the support and co-operation of the Satsangis of Manekpur and nearby villages, as new temple was prepared beside this old temple and activity of conversion of the Aadivasi people was stopped. 

The great successors of the donour Lakha Vanjara are extending  their help, inspiration and an encouragement to Pujya Swamiji for development and progress of Satsang education and social service.

This educational complex of Manekpur has been started from June 2000.  By progressing gradually today facility of education upto Standard 7 has been made available. The institute also aims to extend this facility upto S.S.C. and H.S.C.  Due to quality education of the institute, many students from far off places  come and take admission I the institute. 

At present the institute has very limited infrastructural facilities.  But the institute aims to provide modern facilities like computers, library, laboratory, Gymnasium and music classes.  The devotees Shri Kalu bhagat and Shri Prakashbhai have been rendering their services to the institute with devotion.  Saints like Pujya Swami Vishnuswaroopdasji and  Pujya Kapiljivandasji  are providing guidance  to the institute as the trustees.

If you want to listen to the raining of the bell of the temple playful sweet voice of kids, and beautiful voice of the birds, you must visit Manekpur.  The fact that even small saints of Swaminarayan Sampradaya are working hard for services to education, Satsang and the society and that also in an Aadivasi Tribal Area, deserves all praise.
