Gurukul is an inseparable part of Indian Culture alongwith education in life Gurukul also imparts Diksha to the person.  At present, the value of hard work is decreasing in education and as a result thereof even the young graduates are found dependent and physically weak.  At this time, there is acute need of life oriented education.  The education imparted in the Gurukul is like that.  Here not only the intellectual development but also physical, social and emotional development of the child is kept in mind.  Alongwith education, noble qualities and Sanskaras are inculcated in the child.   Because of this perhaps the child may study less but he would become self reliant and good citizen.

Less education may do but not any deficiency as regards noble qualities and Sanskaras.  Today we find that life of the children is spoilt by addiction, fashion and blind imitation of others.  The parents and the elders remain hectically busy in their official work and occupation and the child grows up like a wild tree.  Under these circumstances, proper development of the child is the lion’s contribution of the Gurukul.  Shastri Swami Shrikrishnadasji and other saints decided to revive the bright tradition of development of life through Sanskar alongwith education and they made Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul, Upleta is their Karmabhoomi. 

Pujya Shastri Swami Shri Krishnadasji has rendered his services for years as Parshad in Shri Swaminarayn Temple, Kachchh – Bhuj.  Following the directions of Shri H.H. Shri Achrya Maharaj Shri Tejendraprasadji Maharaj, Swamiji also rendered his services in Shri Swaminarayan Temple, New Delhi for some period and developed the activities of the temple.  By rendering his services to the visitor Haribhaktas and Gujarati pilgrims, he won their hearts.  Saints of both the Desh – Ahmedabad and Vadtal – felt and experience a sense of belongingness.  Straight forward nature humility and willingness to serve the satsang made Swami Shri Krishnadasji very popular.  Considering the sweet fragrance and devotion  to work, H.H. Shri Achrya Maharaj blessed him to render his services in the filed of education and thus, the work field of Swamiji was expanded.

During his famous Van – Vicharan, the Lord Shri Swaminarayan had blessed Upleta.  For the last 10 years, the educational institute of this place of Prasadi situated on the Bank of the River Moj,  has been spreading its fragrance through its educational, religious and social services.   At present, there is facility of education from Standard 4 to 10.  Besides, education sports and games, various competitions, cultural activities and educational tours and trips are also arranged in the institute.  In order to inculcate spirituality in the children, saints deliver religious speeches to the children quite often and thereby introduced them glorious cultural and spiritual heritage of India. 

There is also a hostel with modern facilities having capacity of 250 students.  There is also facility of computer education in the institute besides is laboratory, library and swimming pool are also available in the institute.  Trained and well experienced teachers pay full attention to over all development of the students wherein guidance of the saints is also available at every movement. 

The institute also runs a gaushala not only to provide fresh milk, curd and buttermilk to the children but also to the rendered services to mother cow.  The institute situated on a vast land surrounded by the trees reminds one of a real Tapovan.  In the development of the institute situated in the leap of nature, Swami Radheshyamdasji, Swami Dharmanandandasji, Swami Vedprakashdasji and Swami Ghanshyampriyadasji are taking pains. 

In order to expand its activities in the field of education, the institute has also been running an educational institute on Highway near Bhachau.
