The president Shastri Swami Shri Bhagwatcharandasji obtained Bhagwati Diksha from Akshar Nivasi Guruvarya Sadguru KaviSwami Shri Harikrishnadasji of Shri Swaminarayan temple, Junagadh and rendered his services as Kothari Swami of Shri Swaminarayan temples at Manavadar, Junagadh and Gondal. 22 years back in Samvat 2037, he made Jamjodhpur of Jamnagar district as his Karma-Bhumi and established Shree Swaminarayan Ashram at Jamjodhpur and gradually developed a temple there.
Shishu-kunj :- As a first step of education and to give a momentum to social service and activity of nationalism, Shri Makanji Karsanji and Santokben Manji Savjani Shishu-Kunj was started wherein today about 300 little children are obtaining Samskaras alongwith education.
Primary School :- The devotee of Jamjodhpur Sheth Shri Kakubhai Manjibhai Savjani (at present residing at Dare Salem in Africa) donated handsome amount of about Rs.60,00,000/- (Rupees sixty lacs) and got the educational complex constructed for the school wherein a primary school is run. The school has also been offering clothes, text books, note books and concession in fee upto 100% to the poor students of the school.
Computer Education :- Computer education is imparted to the students of standard 5 to 7.
Secondary School :- In Smt. Kanchanben Kakubhai Manji Savjani Shri Swaminarayan Secondary School constructed at the cost of Rs.1 crore, education is imparted to the students of standard 8 to 10. There is excellent and beautiful library in the school. There is also an artistic prayer hall. There is facility of beautiful garden and three school buses in the school.
Gurukul :- One hostel building with facilities of lodging is functioning for the outstation students wherein about 150 students are residing and studying.
At present the institute has been developing into a shady tree. Various activities of social service like diagnosis of various diseases, eye donation camp, dental camp, buttermilk centre, distribution of clothes, text books and note books, foot wears etc. free of cost to the poor and needy students are also undertaken by the institute.
Temple :- Satsang Shibir, propagation of the Satsang, addiction eradication campaign and parayan etc. are held in the villages of Jamjodhpur taluka of Halar region. Thus, various activities of social, educational and religious nature are being undertaken by Shree Swaminarayan Temple Education Trust.
Various Social activities of the Institute :-
- Free primary education up to standard 7, distribution of clothes, text books and note books, foot wears etc. free of cost to the poor and needy students.
- Prize of Rs.500/- to the students who pass standard 7 and go to the high school.
- Prize of a bicycle to those students who have secured 75% in standard 7.
- Free education, including computer education, to those students who obtain more than 80% in standard 8.
