Saint poet Shree Adharanand Swami, the chief disciple and writer of Sadguru Shree Muktanand Swami was the only among 500 Paramhamsas of Lord Shree Swaminarayan who was an expert in the art of drawing, who had created the gigantic book like Mahabharat entitled ‘Shree Hari Charitamrit Sagar’ and who was the leading saint among Astakavi (eight poets).

Swamiji was born in the house of Hansarajbhai of Gurjar caste in Kholdiyad village. In his childhood he was known as Virji. Satsang was prominent in all the members of his family. Noble samskaras and culture of his family had deep impact on Virji’s mind and personality. When he attained the age of marriage, then he expressed the desire to go on the path of Shree Hari. Mother encouraged him by showing him the star of Dhruv and inspired him to the noble path. As father Hansrajbhai himself was eager to renounce the worldly life, he persuaded a lot to his son to remain in the family and the society. Even Gurudev Shree Muktanand Swami also persuaded him a lot. But at last it was Virji’s intense desire to renounce this worldly life that Swami persuaded Hansrajbhai to remain in t he society and Virji got the permission to become a saint. Swami took both the father and son to  Shreeji Maharaj. when Swami narrated everything to Shree Hari, he was very much pleased with both of them and embraced them, too.

As per the decision of Muktanand Swami Shree Hari gave Diksha to Virji and he was named as ‘Adharanand Swami’. As the saint Shree Adharanand Swami was Gurjar carpenter by caste, he had inherited the knowledge of Handicraft. He was the only saint-cum-painter of the Shree Swaminarayan Sampradaya. He used to prepare big and small idol images of Shreeji Maharaj and even today the same are found from many saints as received by them due to Guruparampara. Along with being a painter, Swamiji was also a writer. Swamiji had earned the name of right hand of Muktanand Swami had kept on writing incessantly.

Over and above painting and writing, Swamiji was also an expert in the art of Sculpture. A number of Hari-temples of Shree Swaminarayan Sampradaya were used to be built under Swamiji’s direct supervision.

The biggest life-time work of Swamiji is creation of gigantic work like Mahabharat entitled ‘Shree Hari Charitamrit Sagar’. Within a span of three years and three months, he completed creation of 97,389 Dohas and Chopais, 2,309 Tarang and 28 Pur. Yet the book has remained incomplete. This book has been honoured in Both Desh as diary of life of Sahjanand Swami.

Thus the name of Adharanand Swami is welknown as unique worshipper of Shree Hari, right hand and writer of  Muktanand Swami, painter-cum-saint of the Sampradaya and writer of a huge book in  the world of Hindi literature.
Acharya Shree Raghuvirji Maharaj handed over the reins of the Gadi to Shree Bhagvat Prasadji Maharaj in Samvat 1919, presence of Swamiji in the Sabha has been noted. There is no reference as to when Swamiji passed away to Akshardham.
