Situated on the bank of the river Dhatarwadi near Khambha of Amreli district- a region of the brave people of Saurashtra, this institution is established by A.N. Sadguru Shastri Swami Dharmprasaddasji. With a noble objective of social, religious and economic upliftment of the people of the backward class of the society, Swamiji was rendering numerous services like free distribution of medicines, clothes, grains and other necessities of life to the needy people, construction of Hari-temples, services to the patients, Satsang Sabhas, Freedom from Addiction Campaigns, Japa Yagna, Helping people to get rid of evil spirits and sorceries, qualitative and culture-specific education to the children etc. Shree Shastri Swami has got constructed as many as 50 Hari-temples in various villages.

With an objective of running a permanent service of cultural studies along with the formal education and considering the request of the local leaders like Shree Mohanbapa and Vallabhbapa, Mohanbapa Makwana, Hargovinddada Vyas etc. Shree Shastri Swami established Shree Sahjanand Gurukul- an educational institution in the eve-time of his life. Today this educational institution has been growing into a huge shady tree. At present Shastri Swami Radharamandasji is looking after the institution.

Activities of Social Service of the Institution:

Hostel:      

     The institution has been running a hostel with latest facilities wherein there are arrangements of meals for 100 students. The bright students are given concession in fees of the institution. The students get admission in the hostel on the basis of their merit.

Vidyalaya:  

  There is facility of education from Balmandir to standard 10 in the institution. Students of standard 5 to 10 are imparted computer education and for that institution has also constructed a computer lab. Beautiful facilities of library, laboratory etc. are also available in the institution. The bank of river, a beautiful garden, peaceful natural atmosphere creates congenial atmosphere for the studious students and they achieve uncommon and grand success. All the students are prepared by taking extra classes in all the important subjects. The students taking part in various cultural activities are encourage though awards and certificates.

Sanskrit Pathshala:

With the support and inspiration from the devotee of Vadodara Shree Anilprasad Shree Prasad Trivedi sir, ‘Shastri Swami Dharmprasaddasji Sankrit Pathshala’ is being run by the institution.

Go-Sewa (Services to the Cows): The institution has been running a Gaushala so that sufficient quantity of milk and other milk products like butter milk, butte, Ghee etc. is available for Thakorji, saints, students and the guests.

Sahitya-Sewa (Service to Literature):  

For the last one year, the institution has been publishing a monthly magazine named ‘Swaminarayan Darshan’. So far as many as 28 educational and religious publications have been published by the institution. The institution has rendered great service throgh these publications. There is noteworthy contribution of the institution in publication of the literature.

Social Service:

With the support of Dhirajlal Parmanand Desai Charitable Trust, Mumbai and Shivanand Mission, Virnagar, eye-cure camp and diagnosis camps are arranged every month by the institute. Furthermore all disease diagnosis camp, freedom from spectacles shibir, Dant-Yagna, Polio, Ayrved, Homeopathy, Accupressure  etc. camps are held regularly. Clothes, medicines, grains and other essential commodities of life are distributed free of cost to the poor and the needy.

Satsang Seva:      

Various activities like Satsang Sabha, Shibir, Moble Dhoon, construction of Hari Mandir, renovation of the existing temples etc. are undertaken by the institution continuously.

Celebration of the festivals:       

Janmastmi, Ramnavmi, Hari-Jayanti, Guru-Purnima, Vasant-Panchmi etc. religious festivals and 26th January, 15th August etc. national festivals are also celebrated by the institution.

Shree Swaminarayan Saadhna Kendra:        

A facility of accommodation and lodging is provided free of cost by the institution to those who intend to perform Dhyaan, Bhajan etc.

Though the institution is small in terms of its area  yet its scope is not small. The institution has been busy in a number of branches of various activities. Saints like Dr.Devvallabh Swami, Mahapurush Swami, Bhandari Vishun Swamim Pujari Saduhivan Swami etc. have also been rendering their services to the institution.
