It was the desire of Shree Dolubai Parekh and famous Kathakar Purani Swami Jagatprakashdasji that one Samskardham (a centre of culture) may be erected in the birthplace of Shree Moraribapu, the famous Ramayani Kathakar. Purani Swami inspired saint Purani Swami Bhaktitanaydasji of Gadhpur in the year 1994 to realize the dream and accordingly Bhgawat Saptah was organized in Mahuva for the purpose. The donors donated liberated like a flow of river and the foundation stone of the Gurukul was  laid down. The then Chief Minister Shree Chhabildas Mehta himself performed Bhoomi-poojan and since then the progress of the institute has marched ahead:

In the field of Education:  The institute started a school with 1st standard in June 1995 which now has reached upto 10th standard and has thereby made a rapid progress in the field of education. Computer education is provided to the students of the institute from 3rd standard. In order that the students of the institute may survive successfully with the two wings of science and spirituality in the world of professionalism and competition, the institute undertakes various co-curricular activities and thereby builds the base of the students.

If one intends to test the quality of the education of the institute, one has to look at the result of S.S.C of the students for the last three years which has been 100% in all the three years. Along with this, the students of the institute have stood second in Mahuva centre with 89% in the year 2000, have stood first in Mahuva centre with 92% in the year 2001. In the year 2002 the students of the institute have received the prize of Rs.5,001/-  and a certificate from the Honourable Chief Minister Shree Narendrabhai Modi. Moreover, the students of the institute have also won awards in games and sports by playing at state level.

In the field of Sanskruti:   Alongwith the activities of social service, main aim of the  institute has been to impart quality education and thereby to build the life of the children. The saints are keeping watch over the students to ensure that they develop in them Samskaras -noble qualities. Science fair, tour, picnic, annual day of the school are celebrated in a grand style by the institution.
In the field of social service and religion: A number of social activities are being undertaken by  the institution in social and religious fields. At the time of the earthquake of the year 2001, the institute had started a relief camp in collaboration with Damnagar Gurukul and had distributed  grains, clothes, medicines and other essential commodities of life to the quake affected people of Rapar, Anjar and Kandla talukas of Kachchh. Eye-donation camp and Diagnosis camps of various deceases are also arranged by the institute.
Main achievements of the institute: The name of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul, Mahuva, has spread not only over the state but it has also reached in the neighbouring states like Maharashtra and therefore a number of donors from Mumbai visited the Gurukul  and being influenced by the pious, peaceful and cultural  atmosphere of the institute as well as quality education of the school run by the institute, a flow of donations started flowing whose details are enumerated as under:
