Education and various Samskaras are essential to develop a child completely. Man without education is like a blind and if though there is education but no Samskaras then that education turns the heavenly world into a hell. There have been many facilities and luxurious comforts in this world yet most of the areas are devoid of peace, fraternity and feeling of nationalism. In our country there are innumerable universities and schools yet our country needs such schools and educational institutes wherein along with education qualities like peace, fraternity, cleanliness, non-violence, simplicity and courage are instilled in the students and a strong and patriotic society may emerge.

If the society and the nation are to be made prosperous and well-cultured, then it is essential to give the children training of the basic values of life towards Humanism. Life devoid of Dharma and Samskaras is like a vehicle without any brake and is sorrowful. There would be movement but no progress in it. It can be called progressed only when a man finds out a safe way out of difficulties and does not stop due to these hurdles.

In our ancient educational system, education was not limited to literacy only. Therein it was combination of knowledge, wisdom, perennial principles, code of conduct and behaviour. By the time a student graduates, he used to get complete training in the subject of his choice and having aptitude and develop the noble qualities like compassion, tolerance and benevolence. He could march ahead in every sphere of life carefully and could abstain himself from anti-social and anti-national activities by utilizing his knowledge.

The golden time of our education system is available in the glorious history of our country.  Such great periods of history were the times of Ramayan, Mahabharat, Great King Ashok, Great King Shivaji and Great King Maharana Pratap. They have never betrayed the country to fulfill their selfish interest. And it is the need of time to have such patriotic citizens.
Considering the above things, with the inspiration from Shastri Swami Vrindavanviharidasji, Purani Swami Brahmswaroopdasji and Shastri Swami Santswaroopdasji established in the year 1995 a Swaminarayan Gurukul on the land admeasuring 2 and half acre in the backward area of Palanpur city situated on Delhi Highway.

Facility of education from Bal-Mandir to Std.12 is available in this Gurukul. Training for computer, Yoga, horse-riding, shooting is provided along with education and furthermore efforts are on to build citizens for the country by teaching them lessons of spirituality and character-building.

In order that the students from distant areas can also avail the benefit of the best education, facility of hostel and lodging is also provided in the Gurukul. Since this institute is situated in tribal area, there is facility of free accommodation  and lodging in a hostel for the children of Adivaasi  and poor people so that they can study in the Gurukul and their standard of education and life may rise. For development of the precious milch cattle like cows, the institution is also running a Gaushala in the Gurukul.

“Wherever there are saints, lake and the trees, no one else is required to be called.” As this institute is situated on the way of famous places of pilgrimage, it has proved to be a stream of water in the desert for the pilgrims in their spiritual journey. Here the best facility of free lodging is available for the pilgrims. Another educational institute is also being run by this institute at Bhilad.
