The land where the Lord Shri Krishna wound up His Lila, the land where the first of the Twelve important temples of the Lord Shiva, wherein Somnath Mahadev is there and the land where the Lord Shri Swaminarayan had been during his famous Van-vicharan in Varnivesh, the land which is famous as a place of pilgrimage of Triveni-Sangam, is known as Somnath and it is in this Somnath that Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul is situated which has been imparting qualitative education to the students. The history of the Gurukul is like this.

 With the blessings of Brahmnistha Tapomoorti Guruvarya Akshar Nivasi Sadguru Swami Bhagwandasji and with the noble aim of the Sadguru Kothari Swami Narayansevadasji and inspiration from Sadguru Shastri Purushottamcharandasji (Zundal Gurukul), a small Gurukul with a primary school was started in the year 1990.

In the year 1991 Shree Ghanshyam Balmandir was started. Earlier the land  was a forest only. The said land was turned into Nandanvan by the hard work of Swami Dharmkishordasji who did not look at his body and persevered for days and nights together for the purpose.

Gradually with an aim to provide pure and healthy milk of the cows to the Lord, the saints and the students, a Gaushala was started in the year 1996. The result of S.S.C. of the school run in the village was just 3 to 18%. The said school was taken over by the trust in the year and now the result of S.S.C. has risen up to 30 to 48% in spite of very limited strength of the staff.

By constructing modern complex, Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul, which is run by Shri Prabhas Education Trust, has started higher secondary school, P.T.C. College and Computer class from the year 2002.

At present this trust has been conducting regularly Karate classes, training for Civil Defense, Drawing competition, handwriting competition, sports-games competition, Ras-Garaba competition, Sanskrit Classes, Hindi examination, Maths, Science, Piloting Project examination.

Various activities of the institute are done under the direct guidance of Shastri Swami Bhaktiprakashdasji, Swami Dharmkishordasji and Swami Madhavcharandasji. The devotees Shri Hareshbhai Aasodaria, Hareshbhai Gundarania, Lalitbhai Vekariya, Alpeshbhai Gundarania and Pravinbhai Dudhat are at the heart of all the activities of the institute. Furthermore with the co-operation of Swami Purushottamcharandasji (Zundal), Shri Vijaybhai P. Shah (Mumbai), Swami Hariprakashdasji (Junagadh), Shri Chandrakantbhai Damani (Veraval) and Shri Pundrikbhai Geriya (Veraval) the institute has been achieving the peaks of success.
