About 60 years ago Sadguru gopivallabhdasji of Muli established first ever Gurukul of Swaminarayan Gurukul in Surendranagar in Samvant 1999 and thereby started the Gyan-Yagna. Thereafter H.H. Shri Acharya Maharaj and the learned saints encouraged this Gyan-Yagna and a Campaign of knowledge and Samskaras started. Coincidently the Gurukul of Swaminarayan which was closed, was again restarted with donation by Akshar Nivasi the devotee Shri Chotalal (Solicitor) and it was rechristened as ‘Swaminarayan Vidyarthi Bhuvan’ and in order that the history may not be repeated in spite of his unwillingness, the responsibility of Swaminarayan Vidyarthi Bhuvan’ was entrusted with Shastri Narayansevadasji Swami. With hard work and excellent administration this institute has marched ahead achieving number of peaks of success.

In the educational field:
- A spacious prayer hall was prepared
- Hostel with modern facilities having the capacity of 3000 students
- Huge Bhojanalaya (Dining Hall) wherein 300 students can take their meals together
- Separate Reading Hall for the students
- A beautiful Sadhu Ashram for residence of the saints
- Shri G.C.Shah Swaminarayan High School with a playground
- Satsang Hall with the capacity of 200 Satsangis
- Beautiful entrance with a grand tower
- Library Hall and Computer centre with technical facilities
- Sahjanand Bhavan- building with modern facilities for the students pursuing higher studies after standard 10.
In the cultural field:
Shree Swaminarayan Vidhyarthi Bhuvan provides the students congenial atmosphere so that the students themselves can identify their inner powers and talents and develop. The students of the institute have presented the cultural programmes at the places like Ahmedabad, Gadhpur, Vadtal, Surat, Bharuch, Godhra, Mumbai, Muli etc. H.H. Shri Acharya Maharaj, Sadguru Saints and the dignitaries like the Honourable the Chief Minister, His Excellency the Governor of the State and the leading Haribhaktas of Satsang have watched these programmes and have blessed and encouraged the students of the institute.
In the literary field :-
The saints hailing from Sadguru Brahmanand Swami Parampara have preserved and maintained heritage of love for literature. Many unpublished books of the Sampradaya have been published. This Gyan-Yagna continues incessantly. The institute has so far published 26 big and small publications. In order that rich and vast treasure of literature of Sadguru Brahmanand Swami may be spread and propagated, all the universities of the country were contacted and selected 150 erudite persons from these universities were invited in May-1999 to participate in a grand Brahmanand Literary Symposium Mahotsav which was inaugurated by His Excellency the Governor of Gujarat.
Activities of Social Service:-
At the time of earthquake this institute had taken pains to provide help to the affected and needy people.
Unique Campaign:-
The institute bears all the expenses for treatment and medicines of the poor people without any kind of discrimination.
The visionary of this institute saint Shri Narayansevadasji has
- Rendered his services for years as Trustee of the Committee in Muli temple
- Got the services for golden flag-mast and has got spread marble in inner temple and circular path of the Muli temple
- Got renovated wooden carved Haveli of Muli temple and has got constructed a huge water-tank
- Moved in the villages for years and has established Satsang Mandals and has thereby increased Satsang and has also got services for Dev and donation.
