In the year 1995, movements started for establishing a Gurukul at Vaghodia village of Vadodara district. Brahamnista Akshar Nivasai Sadgugu Shastri Swami Gopalcharandasi (Charadvawala) was a saint having deep inclination for education and therefore very welknown in the whole Sampradaya, His disciples Sadguru Shastri Swami Govindprasaddasji and his young, efficient and enthusiastic disciple Shri Hariprakash Swami arrived in Vaghodia.

Akshar Nivasi devotee Shri Morarbhai Lallubhai Patel donated a piece of land for the Gurukul and extended economic support. With the hard work of the saints and with the liberal donations from the donors devotee Shri Dalsukhbhai Ramjibhai (R.R.) Patel (Bapuji of Vadodara, devotee Gurubhai Shri Niranjanbhia Trikambhai Patel (Old Rampurwala), devotee Shri Tribhovandas Shankarbhai patel (Anandwala), devotee Dr. Shri Dipakbhai of Vadodara and trustee Shri Prakashbhai N. Patel as also Akshar Nivasi Shri Phulchandbhai Dalsukhbhai Panchal, the Gurukul could be erected in a very short time.

Since June 1997 Shri Swaminarayan Primary School of Standards 5,6 and 7, since June 1998 Shri Swaminarayan Secondary School and since 2002 Shri Swaminarayan P.T.C. College were started. All the three educational institutes are government recognized, non-grantable and self-financed. In all the three institutes more than  400 children and students have been studying. Out of them 310 students are residing in a hostel and are developing in their lives good qualities and human values.

In the institute there are well-equipped and spacious buildings for primary  and secondary school and P.T.C. College as also Shri Swaminarayan Gau-shala wherein there are 34 cows. Furthermore Shri Swaminarayan Aaroygadhaam (health centre) is also run at full fledged level. The institute also has its own huge library and laboratory. This Gurukul situated in a peaceful and eco-friendly place situated at a distance of about 2 kilometers has made tremendous progress in just five years and has spread its fragrance of popularity as an institute providing quality-education. At present the institute has huge piece of land admeasuring 1 acres.

In October-2007 the institute celebrated Yuva Pratibha Shodh (Young Talent Search) Sanskrutik Mahotsav (Cultural Festival) of Taluka level in Vaghodia and in the same month arranged 39th Science Fair of Vadodara district which was inaugurated by the Honourable the then Minister of Education Smt.Anandiben Patel. By awarding medals to more than 800 student-participants of 315 schools from its own funds, the institute has encouraged them all. Furthermore the institute also started six running shields in Vadodara district. An inter-college sports and games competition for P.T.C. Colleges of Vadodara was also organized by the Institute in October-2003 wherein winner girls and boys participants were honoured with the medals. Thus with the grace of the  Lord Swaminarayan, the institute has made tremendous progress in a very short span of time.

The institute has been making efforts to start its own B.Ed. college and I.T.I. (Computer Course). The founder and trustee Shri Govindprasad Swami and Shri Hariprakash Swami and their disciple groups as also principals, teachers and staff members of various schools and colleges are taking pains for the continuous progress and development of the institute.
