As a result of the collective efforts of the young Shastri Swami Purushottamcharandasji, who cherishes the noble feelings and aim to do something for Bharatiya Samskruti (Indian culture), education and Dharma, and Parshad Shree Nanji Bhagat, who has won the hearts of saints and Haribhaktas of the whole Swaminarayan Sampradaya,  a Yagna in the form of educational service viz. ‘Shree Swaminarayan Samskar Deep Trust’ was started in the lap of nature at Zundal situated at a distance of 20 kilometers from Ahmedabad in the year 1987.

In June 1987 ‘Shree Swaminarayan Samskar Shishu Vidyalaya was established. Getting 100% success in primary section, the next year secondary section was started. Due to enthusiastic saints and constant guidance and hard work of the experienced teachers and faculties the institute obtained shining results in S.S.C. board examination. As a result thereon higher secondary section was also started in the institute and the society also welcomed these developments with its full co-operation and support.

How can one leg behind in walking with the current trends? In order to ensure that the students of the Gurukul do not lack in computer education, the institute introduced compulsory computer education in standard 6 to 11.

By progressing further, the institute has also started one P.T.C. college and one Pharmacy College. For the physical and mental health of the students of the Gurukul various types of competitions are also held by the institute and as a mark of encouragement the students are also awarded prizes.

In order to nurture healthy mind in healthy body, to eradicate addictions like tobacco, smoking etc. prevailing in the society, the students are imparted education of Yoga and morals from the Scriptures.

With a view to develop a sense of social unity, a huge Bhojanalaya with a capacity of 400 students is made available by the institute which is being looked after by Kothari Shree Nanji Bhagat.

To ensure that the students get nutritious food, the institute has also been running a Gaushala under direction supervision of the saints. Under the direct guidance and inspiration of Shastri Swami Purushottamcharandasji, the young and enthusiastic saint Shastri Swami Ghanshyamcharandasji has been taking pains for the development of the various activities of the institute.
